Ben Ellingsen has lived in the Gympie area for the last 17 years. He attended James Nash State High School, where he completed his Year 12 studies. He went directly from school straight into public practice where he has been for the past 14 years. Whilst working full-time, Ben completed his Bachelor of Commerce via the University of Southern Queensland as well as gaining other qualifications (e.g. registered tax agent, commission for declarations, etc.). Ben is a member of the Institute of Public Accountants and National Tax and Accountants Association. Ben is also currently completing his Chartered Accountant qualification.
Ben is married to Kym and they have four children, Lydia, Isabella, Daniel and Rueben. Ben is an active member in the Gympie community.
He is the President of the Gympie Chamber of Commerce Inc, Treasurer of World Hope Australia Inc, Committee Member for Cooinda Aged Care CentreInc, Member of the Wide Bay LEC Advisory Commitee.
